Duties

Review, analyze, monitor and/or initiate supply transactions for medical and nonmedical items required to support the Operating Room, Sterile Processing Department, Anesthesia. Maintains budget information. Responsible for management and control of supplies maintained in the following areas: bulk stock, core and suites. Establish operating procedures, orders or directs the ordering of, receives and verifies quantity, quality and storage of medical supplies. Exercises control over system of cost accounting by monitoring price changes and conducting quarterly inventory. Works with Logistics and Resource Management personnel to reconcile any errors in pricing, stock issues or accounting.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting medical supply inventory, ordering medical supplies, and providing budget information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as operating room technician, medical instrument technician, or medical supply technician. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9.
