You will serve as a TRAINING ADMINISTRATOR in the TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND (TECOM) of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.

Duties

You will manage all phases of the MCISD/SATE (Marine Corps Instructional Systems Design and Systems Approach to Training and Education) process within Explosive Ordnance Disposal Advanced Training Center (EODATC). You will evaluate EODATC academic programs, determine the level of effectiveness and efficiency within the Formal Learning Center (FLC) training environment. You will compile training related statistics on various aspects of the EODATC FLC, evaluate the statistics and data to establish trends and draft reports and presentations for the director to be utilized during internal and external briefs. You will serve as the academic representative for the EODATC at meetings related to structured and unstructured training, local and distant. You will review and inspect Courseware Descriptive Data, Programs of Instruction (POIs), Master Lesson Files, and the Training Input Plan for all courses at the EODATC. You will develop and coordinate the execution of the EODATC budget. Collect, validate, and coordinate budget related data submission to higher headquarters.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing course management documents for assigned courses; 2) Analyzing learning objectives and corresponding measurement instruments; 3) Establishing training requirements and determining training needs of instructor and staff personnel; 4) Reviewing instructor evaluations and student feedback for indications of needed training and improvements; and 5) Evaluating courses for applicability, adequacy, technical accuracy, and accomplishment of training objectives. Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.

Experience

Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:

  • Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
  • Supervising or administering a training program.
  • Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
  • Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR

OR
Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
