Duties

Provides Site-level Business Continuity Planning to include training associates throughout the Site on sound continuity principles, employing all subject areas of Business Continuity Planning. Performs duties in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in support of exercises, and real world crises. Ensures that all applicable site mission/functional areas have continuity plans in place to provide essential financial services functions as required by the assigned mission. Accomplishes detailed feasibility capability studies to assess the site’s ability to support the agency plans. Develops judgments, inferences, assumptions, and conclusions as to the affect that the plans have on current and future organization activities. Briefs and trains exercise participants on exercise rules, objectives and operations. For vacancies filled at less than the full performance level of the position, duties will be developmental in nature.

Qualifications

Human Resources will determine your qualifications for each entry grade level based on your interest and the additional following criteria. To Be Hired at the GS-09 Level: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience For GS-09 Is Described As Follows: Assisting with the oversight and program management of creating systems of prevention and recovery to deal with potential threats to an organization to include defining, establishing, and maintaining roles and responsibilities; providing training on business continuity principles; and serving as coordinator and advisor, communicating to management and internal/external customers on various projects. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a (GS-07) or higher grade in Federal Service. To Be Hired at the GS-11 Level: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience For GS-11 Is Described As Follows: Developing, coordinating, publishing, maintaining and distributing the Emergency Action Plans (EAP) and the Occupant Emergency Plan (OEP) for the Site Support Office. Provides oversight/coordination and program management of creating systems of prevention and recovery to deal with potential threats to an organization to include defining, establishing, and maintaining roles and responsibilities; providing training on business continuity principles; and serving as coordinator and advisor, communicating to management and internal/external customers on various projects. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a (GS-09)or higher grade in Federal Service. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Education

GS-09 Substitution of Education for Experience:
  • Successfully completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. that may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.
