About the Position: This position is for an Inventory Management Specialist, GS-2010-11 with the Department of the Army, Chemical Materials Activity located in Pueblo, Colorado. Reduction In Force (RIF): This position will be impacted by a Reduction In Force (RIF) within the next 3-5 years (subject to change), due to closure of the organization. Impacted employees will be assessed for all eligible Reduction In Force (RIF) benefits should that occur.

Duties

Conduct individual Command Supply Discipline Program reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and solve systemic property management problems. Evaluate Logistics Management processes to continuously make necessary improvements. Administer property accountability program by monitoring accountability for authorizations, allowances, cataloging, acquisitions, accountability, excess, customer assistance, supply discipline and other activities to ensure accuracy. Analyze property issues pertaining to supply process, supply data management, and day-to-day operational process to recommend resolutions. Review supply operations within the divisions to develop necessary changes to internal procedures and workload efficiency. Manage accountability of non-expendable, durable and expendable equipment for the Depot. Provide feedback regarding administrative changes affecting line numbers, national stock numbers, and maintenance of the document support file to leadership.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Department of Army Driver’s License within six months of appointment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15 % of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying regulatory guidelines to execute property accountability by monitoring property items and creating hand receipt transactions to a property book; 2) Analyzing inventory management issued in order to advise and resolve supply inconsistencies; AND 3) Utilizing property accountability systems, such as Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS), to maintain accountability of non-expendable, durable items, to include but not limited to vehicles, chemical decontamination equipment, monitoring equipment and items with a high property value. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: PhD in Supply Change and Logistics, Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), PhD in Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your Transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
