About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US Army Central, G-2, HQ Section, Shaw AFB, South Carolina.

Duties

Serves as an Intelligence operations officer in the headquarters branch of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence (DCofS, G2) for United States Army – Central (USARCENT). Prepares periodic reports on the status of force management, projected manning requirements, orders status, and task tracking for inclusion in synchronization meetings and regular reports. Writes and publishes USARCENT G2 orders in conjunction with the G25, G35, and G5. Deconflicts calendar events and ensures calendar related information is disseminated at all levels. Coordinates with FORSCOM, USCENTCOM, INSCOM, and subordinate forces and intelligence organizations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required 10% or less of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.

Managing operational training, coordinating briefings with intelligence organizations, and assists with drafting plans and orders. 2. Assess contractual correspondence and coordination of supply and service requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
