You will serve as a Secretary (OA) in the Commander Navy District Washington of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BETHESDA.

Duties
You will perform front office receptionist duties (e.g., greet, screen, check-in visitors) to provide great customer service.
You will draft emails, letters, memoranda, or reports in support of administrative practices.
You will serve as authoritative source of information on administrative matters, correspondence practices and the establishment and maintenance of records.
You will compose correspondence on administrative or factual matters (e.g., administrative matters, letters of acknowledgement, general office policies, acceptance of invitations, scheduling/cancellation of meetings).
You will enter information in a database for tracking and reporting on departmental administrative functions (e.g., budget, travel, service or procurement requirements, awards, contract expenditures).
You will make travel arrangements (e.g., schedule transportation, make reservations for lodging, prepare travel orders) in accordance with travel regulations.
You will perform other duties as assigned.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
- Must serve a One-year probation for new hires to the Federal Government. You will start at level 1 of the GS-7 pay scale.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Ability to act independently on noting and following-up on commitments made at meetings and conferences. 2) Advising clerical staff in subordinate departments to respond to fluctuating workloads. 3) Advising clerical staff on preparing correspondence, requirements for various reports and interpreting new instructions and procedures, or locating and summarizing information from files and documents, and being able to recognize which information is pertinent to the matter at hand. 4) Knowledge of correct grammar use, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. 5) Knowledge of substantive programs as they relate to administrative and clerical support functions such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 6) Knowledge on how to perform substantial range of functions such as generating table of contents, importing graphs or databases, creating glossaries, aligning multiple columns, printing, and creating official memorandums.
