About the Position: Serves as the Supervisory Social Worker overseeing the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program administrative, training, and customer service processes while assisting military members, their families and civilians.
This position is OBLIGATED.
Duties
Develops installation procedures that outline responsibilities for the execution of the Family Advocacy Program.
Collects, maintains and analyzes data for planning and reporting purposes in accordance with governing program guidance.
Provides early intervention services to families at risk or following an initial incident of abuse.
Provides oversight of Client Managers System (CTS) and monthly management reports for completion.
Manages the development and implementation of Family Advocacy Program trainings.
Develops and implements a post-wide prevention and education program.
Analyzes data for planning and reporting purposes in accordance with governing program guidance.
Monitors the caseload of all advocates assigned to the Family Advocacy Program dealing with Domestic Violence assigning new cases and assures that educational needs of employees are met.
Provides community liaison and referral services with installation and community agencies, staff, and other Family Advocacy Program divisions.

- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement:
A master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and implementing post-wide abuse prevention and education program; assessing and managing cases of child or spouse maltreatment; conducting family-based assessments to identify familial risk factors; preparing reports and surveys; providing support and educational services to victims of abuse; providing community liaison and referral services for victims of abuse. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: behavioral or social science, social work or other related social science discipline.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
