About the Position: Serves as a senior price/cost analyst with responsibilities for analyzing, evaluating and assisting in the negotiations of contractors' proposals.
Duties
Serve as a Contract Price/Cost Analyst.
Performs price, cost and financial analysis of proposals utilizing various methods for acquisitions including those that have little pricing precedent or prior experience, with some being further complicated by complex interdivisional relationships within the corporation.
Provide price/cost recommendations in regard to cost and pricing principles and techniques.
Requirements
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for CONTRACTING Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- This position requires occasional TDY
- This position requires a Secret Security Clearance
- This position may requires a one-year probationary period
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and specialized experience requirements described below. Basic Requirement for Contract Specialist:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. (Note: You must provide a copy of your Transcripts in order to be considered.)
OR
Exemption: You are exempt from the education requirements above if (A) you are a current civilian employee in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000; OR (B) you are a current military member who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent)-1102 on or before September 30, 2000.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the experience requirements below;
Your resume must describe at least one year of experience at the next lower grade level or equivalent performing the following;
1. Evaluating cost/ price proposals for various contract types;
2. Evaluating of direct material, direct labor, direct and indirect rates;
3. Analyzing various types of cost or pricing data and the associated principles and regulations; AND
4. Utilizing cost, price, accounting and/or financial analysis techniques used to help formulate Government objective positions.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
