The primary purpose of this position is to perform work in support of management analysis functions for Wing Staff Agency (WSA) leadership. Performs assistance to higher graded analysts by providing administrative support and control of specified areas for the office. To provide assistant level support of management and/or program analytical functions.
Duties
Provides support for a variety of management and administrative projects, programs or studies received from higher graded analyst(s) and supervisor. Coordinates activities related to projects, identifies subject area experts, and arranges briefings or other meetings. Conducts studies and research information relative to program/study to pinpoint problem areas, analyzes results and makes recommendation on solutions. Monitors project until completion, keeping higher-grade staff informed of progress and final results. Provides periodic updates and reports status to keep management informed.
Evaluates, coordinates, and implements procedures for management of program responsibilities. Prepares and fully coordinates program documentation, ensuring consistency with program directives and conformance to prescribed policies. Assists higher graded analyst(s) in planning events, making arrangements, and coordinating with appropriate offices and personnel to ensure all information is accurate and administrative arrangements are accomplished. Researches a variety of sources, compiles information, determines appropriate format and style, ensures areas of concern and/or particular items of interest are addressed, and assists in presentations as needed.
Periodically reviews internal procedures for assigned management programs and processes to ensure compliance with applicable directives and instructions. Through analysis of facts gathered by review of applicable regulations/instructions, data systems and personal contacts with management officials, identifies discrepancies and weaknesses of various management programs. Works with the office of primary responsibility (OPR) to establish a plan to correct identified discrepancies and preclude re-occurrence in the future.
Works to achieve and support quality improvement in all products and services. Actively supports and participates in business practices or related assigned duties. Complies with safety and security regulations to ensure a safe and effective working environment. Ensures financial soundness for areas of responsibility and immediately reports any discovered discrepancies to the supervisor. Meets all training requirements levied by management both initial and recurring. Requisitions office supplies, printing support, and related materials and services. Complies with the Air Force's accounting policies and procedures for time and attendance reporting and maintenance. Monitors resource expenditure of funds to include overtime, travel, equipment, and supplies by proper allocation of available funds with assistance from the Resource Manager. Makes proposals and recommends necessary actions toward improving the use of available financial resources. Prepares recurring and special reports on specific areas of the budget and payroll, as needed. Serves in support of Crisis Action Team (CAT) operations, as needed, providing access control, attendance, and administrative/computer support.
Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets. Independently plans and performs complex office automation duties requiring different approaches and methods from one assignment to another, such as using different packages to: edit lengthy and complicated reports; collect, select, organize, and provide information; track the status of a number of projects assigned to the organization; and resolve incompatibility problems in transferring text from one software package to another when menu options and specific software instructions are not available. Uses word processing software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print forms, memos, and letters; uses database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise, sort, or calculate, and retrieve data for reports; and uses graphic software to provide graphs and charts for reports and presentations.
Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with coworkers, related functions, customers, and operating officials. Performs a wide variety of record keeping, updating manuals on policy and directives, reporting, and informational duties in support of the organizations programs, functions, and projects. Establishes and maintains the office filing system. Prepares reports and related correspondence in accordance with the Air Force regulations. Disposes of obsolete or superseded files. Answers telephone and greets visitors and provides information requested or refers to appropriate staff. Distributes mail and messages, recording the receipt, suspense, and completion dates as appropriate. May be responsible for the receipt, control, logging, and safekeeping of classified material received.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Management and Program Clerical and Assistance Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have, or will have within 120 days of closing of this announcement, at least one year of specialized experience which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-04) level, pay band (NK-01), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc.). Examples of specialized experience includes performing administrative duties such as developing reports using data collection techniques, use of automation software to produce a wide range of documents, formats, and monitor project or program progress against established milestones, serving as a customer service representative.
NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

EDUCATION: Completion of 4 years of education above high school.
OR
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicantspossess equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience that may be used to meet total experience requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices relating to Air Force, Command, Center, and Wing instructions, directives, policies, etc. on various managerial programs.
2. Knowledge and skill to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, devise solutions to problems, and identify changes and trends.
3. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature.
4. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
6. Ability to apply lean, safety, security and health principles, practices, and procedures and to understand and apply internal management procedures.
