About the Position:The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance.

Duties

Lead others by assisting, providing instructions, training, or answering questions regarding work procedures and directives. Check work in progress and when finished, checks for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines. Provide a brief to site commander and/or chief of maintenance on the purpose of the inspection, the initial evaluation, and a final report on the condition of the equipment. Plan daily work and the utilization of available facilities, materials, and other resources following detailed work control documents and pre-established schedules and priorities. Prepare material estimates, skills determinations, and special tool requirements. Brief team members on management policies and programs as required and maintains daily time and attendance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a personnel security background check, (Tier 2).
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period may be required.

Requires close eye-hand coordination when working on modules and other types of components in the removal, replacement, modification, or repair of small parts and integrated circuits which require magnification before connections can be made. Moderate lifting of complete sets of equipment up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in air-conditioned shop area at a workbench or test panel. Subject to electrical shock from high voltage electrical circuits up to 2000 volts and up to 200 watts of RF power. Subject to cuts and bruises when working in close quarters. Subject to work on aircraft when technical assistance is required. Working conditions have been considered in job evaluation and are not compensated for by environmental or hazard pay.
