You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Advanced Security Division, Security Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.

Duties

You will be responsible for providing program protection in the interest of national security. You will plan, implement and administers the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security ensuring SCI security programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. You will serve as the lead or alternate lead as the Alternate-Special Security Officer (ASSO) and provide advice and manage all aspects of SCI security programs needed to complete the organization's mission. You will also provide support in the areas of program protection planning; personnel, industrial, physical and Information Systems (IS). You will prepare, review and evaluate program and security documentation to ensure adequate protection is provided in accordance with program requirements. You will ensure security and administrative procedures are adhered to, delegating and distributing tasks as necessary to ensure program success.

• MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For DA-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band (DA-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Working with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat; 2) Applying security concepts, principles and practices to review, analyze and resolve security problems; 3) Initiating and administering sensitive projects, testing and security operations; 4) Applying knowledge of DoD Information and Personnel Security program regulations and Physical Security manuals. For DA-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band (DA-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Working with Automated Information Systems (AIS) security equipment, programs, alarm systems, entry control systems and intrusion detection systems; 2) Applying security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze and resolve difficult and complex security problems; 3) Assisting with initiating and administering sensitive projects, testing and security operations; 4) Applying knowledge of security procedures, policy guidelines and regulations for security management of programs, personnel, and resources. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For DA-04:
Successful completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

OR

Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

OR

Possession of an LL.M., if related

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
