Duties

As a Budget Analyst you will be responsible for district funding, all aspects of the planning, formulation, justification, preservation, execution, and review of annual and mid-year budgets in support of the CONUS and OCONUS budgets. Work with program managers to develop realistic fund requirement estimates and coordinate to ensure funds received are acceptable to the performing organization. Provide oversight and management of Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS). Research major variances, using budgetary and financial data.

  • Incumbent must be able to obtain a DoD Financial Management 2 Certificate within 2 years

Provide direct budget support to large and complicated divisions, including the initial budget build, mid-year updates, and fiscal year-end closeout;3. Review charts and statistical data for use in monthly management reviews to provide detailed, comparative analysis of planned versus actual expenses; and 4. Mentor others in utilizing programs such as Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS), Microsoft Office, and budget operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementBudget ExecutionFundamentals & Operations of Budget Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
