This National Guard position is for an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER, Position Description Number NGD1209000 and is part of CSMS 1. This is a permanent Title 32, Dual-Status position. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: - Title 32 Dual Status Technicians (DST): permanent employees (tenure group 1, 2 or 3) of the South Dakota Army National Guard - Title 5 National Guard Employees (NGE): permanent employees (tenure group 1, 2 or 3) with military membership in the South Dakota Army National Guard

Duties

As an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER, WL-2604-11, you will: This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The purpose of this position is to serve as a working leader of three or more Electronics Mechanics, WG-2604-11. Performs duties such as field and limited sustainment maintenance and repair of a variety of electronics equipment and complete operational systems. Provides technical guidance and specialized team leadership to lower-grade employees.

Qualifications

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Enlisted on up to CW3 are eligible to apply. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full-time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. **Candidates must have a valid state driver's license.** GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the candidates ability to lead other technicians engaged in the inspection, installation, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment. Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, electrical blue prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and to assign work and monitor progress. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience or training in the KSAs listed below. Experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of and skill in the repair of electronics equipment sufficient to organize and direct the work of others. Experience which demonstrates an applicant's ability to provide guidance to others in troubleshooting malfunctions. Experience which demonstrates an applicant's ability to instruct others in the use of precision measuring and test equipment. Experience in interpreting technical publications and providing guidance to others. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Knowledge of electronic principles such as circuit elements, digital logic, microprocessors, core memory, interface circuits, digital data transmission, microwave, antennas, signal behavior, amplification, and display. Skill to troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain electronic components and systems. Knowledge of electromechanical servo systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical and electric motor systems. Skill in interpreting complex drawings, specifications, and schematics of complete systems. Skill in using a wide variety of electronic test equipment, special and common hand tools, power tools and gauges. Skill to provide general supervision in the form of work orders, oral instructions, and technical assistance on unusual or difficult problems.
