The Training Specialist works at the VA Maine Healthcare System (VAMEHS) and also supports the Community Care Service. Incumbent serves as a Training Specialist and provides intensive training for community care functions/process. This position is a full-time at 40 hours per week.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to: The VA Maine Community Care Training Specialist provides a broad range of training for administrative healthcare initiatives in support of VA Medical Center community care operations that include the primary functions of community care. Managing the overall responsibilities of a robust training and education program. Analyzing and interpreting work processes to determine educational needs of individual employees. Monitoring minimum standards for quality and productivity. Assessing and developing standard work and training programs. Conducting formal and on-the-job instruction. Evaluating training outcomes and ongoing auditing for compliance. Apply continuous improvement methods through the Systems Redesign Principles and Practices. Possess strong leadership skills and extensive knowledge of an outpatient clinic environment. Ability to design, implement and monitor a varied and complex scheduling training program. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 04/18/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position, you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. For a GS-9 position, you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7.The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
