This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, Position Description Number PDD1064000, and is part of the SC AASF, South Carolina Army National Guard.

Duties

This position is located in the Logistics function of an ARNG, Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF). The AASF provides Aviation Unit Maintenance (AVUM), Aviation Intermediate Maintenance (AVIM), and aviation maintenance training for supported units. The purpose of this position is to develop, organize, and integrate plans, schedules and resources for logistic support of AASF and unit maintenance operations. This position is the focal point for compilation, maintenance, and application of information pertaining to the AASF logistics capability and capacity to maintain aircraft availability and readiness and advises the AASF Logistics Management Officer/Supervisory Maintenance Test Pilot on matters pertaining to maintenance logistics management production.

Requirements

• NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is a Title 32 Technician Vacancy that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the closing date of the job vacancy.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

Qualifications

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Area 1 Only. Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard *Note- Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 24 months experience, education or training preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes. Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions.
