About the Position: As the Electronic System Control Craft Worker in Charge you will be responsible for performing a combination of shop, plant, and outside work at a multi-purpose power project. You will execute all tasks of a journey level electrician and in addition, direct and coordinate the acceptable quantity and quality of work from a semi-skilled and skilled work crew

Duties

Performs electrical duties in a crew under his/her direction in addition to directing and coordinating work assignments. Participates in job hazard analyses, requests and holds safe clearance orders. Plans distribution of electrical work and methods for accomplishment. Responsible for training workers under his/her direction, to perform craft work in accordance with established standards. Responsible for obtaining quality and quantity of work required by industry standards and approved work plans. Orders materials and mobilizes resources needed to execute work assignments.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid state issued driver's license.
  • Pre-employment physical is required.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Must have the ability to give verbal instructions as to the nature of repairs, installation or maintenance to be made, and can proceed to carry out the work; and have experience as a journeyman electrician diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining power distribution circuits, control systems, communication systems, and low voltage distribution. This work must have been performed in an industrial setting. Work was performed under normal supervision of a supervisor who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. -Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Efforts: The type of work performed requires physical endurance to work in cramped, poorly accessible sites for prolonged periods of time when repairing or servicing installed equipment. Must be able to see with limited visibility as when using welding masks and have normal depth perception. Work required prolonged periods of standing and climbing ladders, and the employee pushes, pulls, twists, and lifts objects frequently weighing up to, and occasionally over 45 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is performed in the powerhouse and other project structures, as well as outdoors. The employee is exposed to noise, heat, confined areas and heights during inside work, and to all weather conditions and extremes of heat and cold when working outside. Respirators, hearing protection, and eye and safety shields are required when grinding, etc. Incumbent must wear all required and necessary safety equipment appropriate to each work assignment. Must wear appropriate safety equipment and protective clothing and successfully complete and maintain all occupational health requirements.
