Duties

As a Supervisory Public Health Advisor (Quarantine Program) you will: Serve as a Regional Officer-in-Charge on a team with Division Quarantine (DQ) senior management to formulate policy for all quarantine stations nationwide. Provide guidance, and direction to port partners in Division programs, quarantine principles, bioterrorism preparedness, and other public health activities related to mitigation of communicable diseases. Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities of the assigned CDC Quarantine Station and other quarantine stations in the jurisdictional area. Evaluate for and ensure appropriate conduct of permanent and temporary staff assigned to the CDC Quarantine Station to represent CDC professionally

Requirements continued.... Must possess a valid State government-issued driver's license. Subject to permanent reassignment to another CDC (Port Health) Quarantine Station as the needs of the service warrant. Subject to shift operations, to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, independent of shift assignments. The incumbent is required to be current in his or her immunizations as per ACIP guidelines. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Minimum Qualifications: To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing guidance and direction to public health partners; planning, developing, and directing Branch activities and operations; analyzing and evaluating efficient and effective methods of improving Branch operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
