This job opportunity is for an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, position description D1063000, within the AASF-1 of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.
The purpose of this position is to act as the Lead Aircraft Mechanic with responsibility for managing the operational readiness of one or more aircraft, and proficiency training of supported aviation unit personnel.
Duties
As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, WG-8852-12, you will:
Qualifications
General Experience:
Must have general experience or training that has provided you with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications.
Specialized Experience:
Must have at least 24 months experience or training in the following:
Installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing various major and minor mechanical and pnuedraulic systems on an aircraft
Coordinating the work of other mechanics
Scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow
Ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military, and other personnel
Knowledge of disassembly and re-assembly of the following:
Crashed dummy engines
Transmissions
Gearboxes
Hydraulic components
Fuel controls
