About the position: This position will be assigned to the Child Development Center, Naval Weapons Station in Goose Creek, SC. The work schedule will be determined by the needs of the activity. Physical Effort: Light to moderate physical effort in lifting up to 45 pounds or pushing carts. Constantly standing, walking, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching.

Duties

1. Prepares fruits and vegetables for cooking and serving by washing, peeling, scraping and dicing. Cuts and shreds lettuce, slices tomatoes, cuts and shreds vegetables and opens cans. Portions out food by placing uniform amount in small serving dishes 2. Cleans equipment in kitchen and dining areas. Washes, dishes, pots, pans, and flatware. Operates mechanical dishwasher. Sweeps, mops, and waxes floors. Disposes of food wastes and trash. Will be responsible for setting up serving carts with food, dishes, and utensils for each meal or snack and deliver them to the appropriate classrooms. Will also collect the same serving carts after each meal or snack. Each cart will be sanitized in preparation for the next meal. Will be responsible for laundering any towels or linens used in the kitchen at the end of each day. 3. Moves heavy garbage cans, and assists in unloading supply trucks and storing heavy supplies. 4. Performs other related duties as assigned. Position is a position of trust. Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
• This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
• This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position
• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
