Duties

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, Office of Administration, Management Support Division, Support Services Branch in Sterling, VA. At the full performance level (GS-15) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Exercises the full range of supervisory personnel management authority and responsibility over a multifunctional staff. Provides leadership, guidance, and expert advice for all space and facilities management functions that include space utilization assessments, occupancy and space planning and design, coordinating space alteration activities, lease management in coordination with the GSA, managing labor and logistical efforts, setting up meeting rooms for events, and oversight of building and facilities operations. Formulates all program requirements and negotiates with the General Services Administration in all lease requirements for existing and new space requirements. Coordinates design, construction, and build-out activities to be completed in accordance with prescribed schedules; taking corrective action as necessary to overcome delays, shortfalls in design and/or construction projects through continuous and aggressive liaison, and coordination with all parties concerned. Supervises the planning, oversight, guidance, and coordination of support services such as, but not limited to the property management, museum property management, vehicle management and reporting, warehouse management, mailroom and receiving operations, printing, and reproduction (GPO), and graphics and videography support functions. Develops and implements bureau program policy to ensure appropriate delegations of personal property management authority to various field and program installations, effective operations, property accountability and control of assets through record keeping, effective procedures, appropriate security control, tracking the movement of assets, and recording changes of the location and verification of physical counts for the personal property life cycle from the initial acquisition through final disposal. The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. Salary Information GS-15: $163,964 (Step 1) - $191,900 (Step 10) per annum First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level. Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying. Specialized Experience To qualify for the GS-15, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1. Directing most aspects of space management such as space utilization, occupancy and space planning and design. 2. Formulating all program requirements and negotiates with the General Services Administration in all lease requirements for existing and new space requirements. 3. Directing most aspects of support services such as personal property management, museum property, warehouse management; fleet management, or mail room and receiving operations. Must meet all.
