Duties

On a computer based system, establishes and maintains individual time, leave, and earnings records of salaried and hourly non-appropriated fund employees, civilian and military plus seasonal hires. Accomplishes withholdings for federal, state and local taxes and collections for social security, retirement, life insurance, health benefits and union dues, as applicable. Examines and verifies all pay action documents for accuracy, authority, completeness and conformance with regulatory and statutory requirements. Balances output reports to appropriate source documents on a pay period, quarterly, and annual basis. Balances all deductions and earnings for each installation. Input payroll data from a variety of source documents into a computerized payroll system which requires a knowledge of a variety of coding structures to process the various pay interrelationships involved.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3 to include a Tier 3 background investigation.
• PER AR 380-67, NON-US CITIZENS WILL NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN THE REQUIRED ANACI (SECRET) INVESTIGATION, THEREFORE, WILL BE UNABLE TO QUALIFY UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT.

Qualifications

1. Must have semi-independent work experience which includes the processing of a large payroll using an automated system. 2. Demonstrated ability to perform the duties as described above. 3. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. 4. Ability to type 40 words per minute (wpm). 5. Ability to operate calculator. Qualifications must be reflected in Resume.
