Duties

Serves as the Director of a distribution center operation (DDCN) that provides direct distribution support to global and retail customers, site program managers, and local customers through subordinate supervisors, employees, and contractors. Directs and manages the work of a government operated activity as well as a Continuing Government Activity (CGA) Assures responsibility for distribution, storage, and transportation management and is involved with the overall DOD logistics systems, DSS, and the overall DLA distribution system. Provides technical oversight for and monitors the Service Provider Manages complete cycle of operations related to receiving, inspection, warehousing/storage, re-warehousing, maintenance in bin and bulk storage, bin replenishment, packing shipment preparation, locator accuracy, denial processes, (con't) inventory accuracy, and shipping, as well as all documentation, reports and automated information systems associated with distribution and storage operations. Ensures the quantitative and qualitative analysis and evaluation of plans, programs and critical issues

Qualifications

To qualify for a Distribution Facilities Manager, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after­ competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Performs as the on-site primary technical authority for distribution operations. Forms long-range plans for the organization and makes necessary organization changes to implement these plans. Shares in the responsibility for programs including the accuracy of stock Inventory and supply systems, and monitoring the progress of the organization toward meeting goals, periodically evaluating progress and making adjustments. Education Substitution: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
