As an Emergency Management Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert technical assistance in providing comprehensive agency wide crisis management, continuity of operations, and emergency/disaster management policies and plans.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $121,485.00 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience in providing the following emergency management services: collaborating in preparedness, response, and recovery among diverse stakeholders to meet mission and organizational needs; developing plans and procedures in the subject areas of Continuity of Operations (COOP), emergency management, and Occupant Emergency Planning (EOP); conducting emergency management and COOP training as well as exercises using the Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) standards; and supporting diverse stakeholders on state, local, or federal disaster operations.
