You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) Program Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will assist The Program Manager, Certifying Official and Chief Crane Engineer in the analysis and design elements for Weight Handling Equipment (WHE). You will review and check designs, procedures and submittals prepared by others. You will develop component failure analysis, prepare requisite scopes, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates, You will prepare correspondence, status reports, economic analyses and fact sheets. You will prepare written and oral presentations regarding crane engineering related topics.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1 - Managing projects in a timely manner and accomplishing objectives within resource constraints. 2 - Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and manufacturers manuals and schematic instructions. 3 - Independently planning, organizing, and scheduling work to meet deadlines. 4 - Facilitating interaction and communication between customers and NAVFAC team members 5 - Developing and presenting technical reports to management in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
