You will serve as a TECHNICAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST in the REPAIR TECHNICAL DIVISION, REPAIR DEPARTMENT NAVAL SUBMARINE SUPPORT FACILITY.
Duties
You will perform administrative functions within the library adapting standard library procedures and techniques to the specific needs of the activity.
You will order, receive, catalog, inventory, issue and replace the various types of technical documentation (i.e., CD-ROMS, Military/Federal specifications etc.) required to support the operation of NSSF.
You will maintain security measures requisite with the storage, handling, reproduction and distribution of classified material in micro-graphed, hard copy or CD-ROM form per current directives.
You will maintain data base files of technical data located in the technical library.
You will serve as the Technical Data Management Information System Manager.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the basic requirements, in order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying the standard concepts, techniques, and practices of library science.
Experience working with computer systems to manage, store, retrieve, and transmit technical documentation.
Experience maintaining digital inventories of technical documentation and technical documentation retrieval systems.
Experience with Department of Defense and Navy requirements for safeguarding classified information.
Experience with submarine system, equipment and repair terminology to provide research assistance in identifying and locating drawings and technical manuals.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings and nomenclature including blueprint numbering and technical manual identification data forms.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) General Schedule Qualifications Standards:
A full 4-year course of study that meets all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in the subject-matter field of the position to be filled.

Four years of experience that provided a knowledge of the basic principles, theories, practices, techniques, and terminology of a discipline or subject-matter field; an understanding of the standard methods, procedures, and techniques of research and analysis in the subject-matter field; and where appropriate, ability to read and comprehend nontechnical material in one or more foreign languages. Such experience must have been equivalent to that which would have been gained through a 4-year college curriculum.

Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education or master's or equivalent graduate degree, e.g., LL.B. or J.D., related to the position
