This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Located in the Letterkenny Munitions Center Chambersburg, PA.
Duties
Assist higher graded employees on electronic test equipment for reconditioning/overhaul of missile guidance and control systems.
Test warranted and field return missile components during the assembly process.
Operate automatic test equipment to locate defective electronic components and operate manual test equipment to test munitions.
Operate a variety of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, frequency meters, voltmeters, digital circuit testers, logic analyzers, and special test equipment.
Follow detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, layout diagrams and work instructions to construct individual chassis and components of electronic equipment.
Modify electronic tests according to Air Force / Navy and Army specifications.
Troubleshoot individual circuitry as well as interconnected and interacting circuits within electrical systems.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronic Measurement Equipment Worker ~ without more than normal supervision to include removing and replacing defective electronic components, modules or assemblies using electronic test equipment and tools. Following wiring diagrams, schematics or diagrams to test equipment and perform maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: Work involves standing and bending in sometimes awkward positions, occasional climbing and benchwork (sitting) for prolonged periods. Usually handles items from 10 to 40 pounds, but items may occasionally exceed 40 pounds.
Working Conditions: Work is usually done inside in well lighted, heated, and ventilated areas but sometimes works outside in various weather conditions. However, may be required to work in adverse conditions in emergency situations. Incumbent is exposed to burns, electrical shock, and the possibility of cuts, bruises, and burns.
