About the position: This position will be assigned to the Eisenhower Golf Course, Air Force Academy, Colorado.
This position does include benefits.
Position is subject to furlough form 15 Dec to 1 March of each year.
Duties
Promotes, organizes, schedules, and conducts in-house tournaments, matches, special events, and daily course activities.
Oversees the daily operation of the pro shop from establishing opening and closing procedures, selling merchandise, and tracking physical inventory.
Responsible for the supervision of the Pro Shop staff; including but not limited to; scheduling, evaluating, and counseling as necessary.
Assists in overseeing all Eisenhower Golf Course Junior Golf camps/clinics and programs.
Ensures golf lessons/programs are organized and conducted in accordance with Air Force Instructions.
Assist General Manager in workforce management, recruitment, and staff training for the Pro Shop.
Responsible for coordinating club tournaments and creating scorecards, scoreboards, pairings, budgets, and advertising with approved software.
Coordinates with the Food and Beverage Supervisor when the event includes food banquet room requirements.
Attends and actively participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings and performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Prior experience in all facets of golf operations including inventory; golf instruction; tournament and event management; knowledge of golf course maintenance.
Expertise in PGA rules and regulations.
Knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures including opening and closing procedures of the Golf Pro Shop.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Golf Genius.
Substitution for experience: A four-year degree from an accredited college with a major of Golf Management may be substituted for the general experience.
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience must be at a level that demonstrates the applicant can perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Must have the physical ability to play golf.
Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
