Duties
Serves as the Store Worker Leader (FLO) in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) location. The primary purpose of this position is to perform duties of a Store Worker (Fork Lift Operator) as well as operating a motor vehicle. Incumbent works in one or more of the departments within the store and performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, handling, marketing, preparing, displaying, and maintaining the stock levels or resale items.
Position responsibilities include:
Serves as a lead worker to three or more Store Worker employees.
Provides training and instructions to lower level employees.
Distributes daily work assignments and monitors progress.
Maintains adequate stock of perishables and non-perishable items.
Replenishes depleted stock with incoming items or from storage areas.
Verifies shipments by checking the shipping documents, making proper notations on the documents, and identifying any obvious spoilage, damage, overages, or shortages.
Operates a forklift capable of lifting lads weighing less than 1000 pounds as high as 240 inches.
Performs Material Handling Equipment (MHE) checks at the beginning of each shift, complete and sign the checklist and report deficiencies.

- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- While operating a forklift, the incumbent uses moderate physical effort in operating hand and foot controls while driving, turning, starting and stopping the forklift. Strain is caused by the vibration of the forklift.
- In addition, while operating a forklift, the incumbent may receive cuts, bruises and broken bones from shifting loads, toppling stacks, overturning forklifts, falling objects, or accidents with other moving equipment.
- May be exposed to hot or cold weather or damp and drafty conditions when storing or obtaining items in refrigerated rooms. Danger of minor injuries, cuts, scrapes, bruises, heat sealer bums, and slipping on wet floors.
- Physical Requirements: The work requires continuous walking, standing, bending, or stooping, and using arm movements to fill the store's shelves and counters.
- Physical Requirements: Frequently lifts or moves heavy boxes or crates weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally over 40 pounds with assistance.

Ability to lead others and effectively conveys information verbally.
Knowledge of store worker requirements to assist coworkers in the performance of regular assigned duties.
Knowledge of stock turnover, shelf space allocation and customer preferences.
Knowledge in requisitioning perishable, semi-perishable and non-perishable.
Ability to preparing, arranging, or stacking items together for safety and neatness; rotating old stock.
Ability to operate a manual and /or electric pallet jack and forklift.
