This position is located in the Support Services Division (SSD) of the RO, where the incumbent provides program, technical and administrative assistance to the SSD Chief and other subordinate management within the division.

Duties

Prepares, assembles, and correlates information into requested formats or creates format for data. Processes incoming and outgoing materials. Edits documents, composes letters and reports, and reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness. Coordinates scheduling of facility space within the regional office. Identifies requirements for equipment within the regional office and forwards for action. Provides input on staffing and budget requirements for SSD activities. Maintains official station control log/history file for circulars, bulletins, and memoranda. Establishes and maintains files and records for the division. Prepares access requests for division employees. Assists other users with regards to applications and selection of appropriate formats and procedures for correspondence preparation. Reviews correspondence for accuracy, format, and appropriate usage of grammar. Performs duties of a government purchase card holder to include securing the card, maintaining receipts and other supporting documentation, and reconciling transactions timely. Assists the primary Transit Benefit Manager in program administration. Monitors and reports time and attendance for division employees. Performs PIV Official Role duties. Receives all division visitors and callers and provides the appropriate information or refers to the appropriate operating element. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 04/22/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. You may qualify based on your experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements and/or education. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary. However, there may be some physical effort such as standing, walking, bending, and/or carrying of light items such as files, books, and supplies.
