The primary purpose of this position, SUPPLY SYSTEMS ANALYST, GS-2003-12 is to serve the Air Logistics Center (ALC) Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) technical expert in support of assigned supply systems. This position is required to have a detailed knowledge of supply, transportation data systems, processes, and the interface required to accomplish the Mission.

Duties

Serve as a center level Supply Systems Analyst and technical consultant for assigned supply systems and programs. Develop, refine, interpret, and issue policies and procedures for the ALC. Serve as team lender in representing the ALC on assigned tasks involving data system issues. Participate in discussions, meetings, committees, or special projects and presents briefings and prepare recommendations and reports.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year, or will have one year within 120 of closing of this announcement, at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is described as the knowledge of specialized methods and techniques to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of supply programs and/or operations. In-depth knowledge in one or more areas of supply operations or management programs and knowledge of a broad range of supply program relationships in order to develop policies, procedures and guidance for both internal and external customers. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with individuals and groups within the office as well as outside the immediate work unit. 2. Ability to use office automation tools and techniques to design and generate reports, briefing materials, and/or comparable documents. 3. Ability to plan, organize work, originate new ideas, projects, studies, and methodologies. 4. Ability to review, analyze, and evaluate supply management programs and to develop timely and economical solutions. 5. Knowledge of sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance or advice to resolve supply problems. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is sedentary and is usually accomplished while seated at a desk or table. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with attendance at meetings and conferences, or while researching files. Items carried typically are light objects such as briefcases, notebooks, and data processing reports. Lifting of moderately heavy objects is not normally required. No special physical effort is required to perform the work. WORK ENVIORNMENT: Work is primarily performed in an office-like setting involving everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms. Employee uses safe work practices with office equipment, avoids trips or falls, and observes fire regulations. Work areas are adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
