This position is part of the WAPA-SNR-Sierra Nevada Region, Department of Energy. As a Student Trainee (Laborer-MVO), you will perform tasks that require significant manual skill and very heavy physical effort.
**This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at one of the duty location(s) identified.**

Duties
As a Student Trainee (Laborer-MVO), you will:
Load and unload trucks and boxcars;
Stock/unstock shelves/pallets;
Move furniture, supplies, etc., by hand or by hand truck;
Open and stacks crates and boxes; dig ditches and trenches;
Fill holes with dirt and level bumps; collect and empty garbage can
Assist Lineman and Electricians crews with unskilled physical labor tasks;
Organize warehouse stock with aid from Property Specialist; annotate stock and location information for entry into inventory management system.
May occasionally operate, as needed, equipment such as a Bobcat skid-loader (with mower, posthole digger), small agricultural tractors, forklifts, or pallet jacks.
In order to accomplish the laborer duties, regularly operate motor vehicles (¾ -ton through 1 ½ - ton pickups) to transport personnel, material, or equipment to work sites over Federal, state, and county roads.
Qualifications
Must be a current student in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.
Education
Must be current student. Transcripts and proof of enrollment must be provided.
