Duties

Assists Facility Manager in the overall management and operation of a fitness facility. Assists with publicity of programs and events assists with marketing of posters, flyers and other promotional material. Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery. Duties include adjusting due to changes in program demands or hours of operation and assisting in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts. Conducts classes and walks all facility rooms to provide guidance or referral as appropriate. Issues/receives equipment to authorized users. Assists with the inventory of property. Monitors fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate.

Requirements

• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service, see www.sss.gov.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED; MWR Orientation Course; Customer Service; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
• Candidate needs knowledge of common gym equipment and be able to show how to use it, and be interested in health, wellness, and fitness.

Qualifications

Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to operate multiple fitness facilities. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. Highly Desirable: Possession of a Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.
