You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the EXECUTIVE OPERATIONS GROUP, PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE of DDHBAP ASIA PACIFIC CENTER FOR SECURITY STUDIES.
Duties
You will assist the Chief of Public Affairs with the Center’s public affairs plans and policies, and in responding to local, national and international media.
You will ensure the external and internal audiences are kept current and informed about the Center’s mission, programs, and accomplishments.
You will provide extensive work experience in public affairs, publication production, social media management, and special events planning.
You will research, write, and/or edit feature and new articles and letters, brochures, social media posts, program agendas, reports, and procures other public affairs materials at the direction of the Chief of Public Affairs.
You will work closely with the public affairs photographer and the Centers contracted visual information team to take photos and prepare them for release in Center publications, the Center's website (both internal and external portals.

You will oversee content, operation and maintenance of a multi-media display in the Center’s lobby, which requires daily updates and photo montages that reflects all aspects of the Center’s programs.
You will escort visitors, conducts tours, and plans and executes a variety of special events to include interviews and round- table discussions for international, national, and local media, community leaders, and other VIP visitors to the Center.
You will manage office supplies and equipment accounts and purchases. Oversees administration of PAO’s electronic records management.
You will provide cultural sensitivity, refined interpersonal skills, advanced verbal skills, and speaking ability for successful interaction with Center staff, faculty and Fellows, with the local, and national and international media.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assist with research, writing, and/or editing feature and news articles and letters, brochures, social media posts, program agendas, reports, and procures other public affairs materials. Assists with taking photos and prepare them for release in publications, websites, and in newspapers, magazines, academic journals, and other publications and media outlets.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
Possession of an LL.M., if related
