Duties
Implement analytical techniques necessary to solve recurring, procedural, and factual geospatial and GIS issues.
Analyze cumulative impacts of frequently measured environmental factors and conduct basic 3D/spatial analysis and geospatial modeling to analyze resource distribution and behavior.
Provide technical user support and troubleshooting assistance for recurring problems related to GIS hardware and application support.
Participate on interdisciplinary teams at the local level.

To qualify for the GS-7, you must meet one of the following:
one year of specialized experience, equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-5). Example: Knowledge of standardized geospatial and GIS software/hardware applicable to the BLM.

1 academic year of graduate education in a course of study that directly reflects the job-related KSAs/competencies necessary to satisfy the minimum qualifications and perform the duties of the position.

An equivalent combination of Education and Experience.
To qualify for the GS-9, you must meet one of the following:
one year of specialized experience, equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-7). Example: Knowledge of standardized geospatial and GIS software/hardware applicable to the BLM. Ability to learn the interrelationships between various natural and cultural resources (i.e. range, wildlife, soil, water, minerals) programs in order to work with a diverse group of resources specialists, planners, and managers to implement geospatial applications. Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), related technology, and analytical techniques in order to learn to resolve moderately complex GIS issues and complete a variety of well-precedented projects and assignment in support of business operations and natural resource management activities within the BLM.

or
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

An equivalent combination of Education and Experience.
To qualify for the GS-11, you must meet one of the following:
one year of specialized experience, equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-9). Example: Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), related technology, and analytical techniques in order to learn to resolve moderately complex GIS issues and complete a variety of well-precedented projects and assignment in support of business operations and natural resource management activities within the BLM. Knowledge of standardized geospatial and GIS software/hardware applicable to the BLM. Ability to learn the interrelationships between various natural and cultural resources (i.e. range, wildlife, soil, water, minerals) programs in order to work with a diverse group of resources specialists, planners, and managers to implement geospatial applications.

3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

Superior Academic Achievement (See OPM's General Policies, Application of Qualification Standards Section 4.f.) S.A.A. must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled.
