About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, Resource Management Office Finanace and Accounting Branch located in Galveston, TX.

Duties

Serve as Agency Program Coordinator (APC) for administration of the Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) Program. Perform financial analysis of GTCC delinquencies, account balances, and monthly transaction amounts to calculate percentage rates of delinquent numbers of accounts and account balances. Analyze resources to identify misuse, abuse, fraud, and other account anomalies and to determine appropriate follow-up actions. Serve as the alternate district Customer Service Representative (CSR) for time and attendance requirements. Serve as the District's subject matter expert (SME) on the DOD Financial Management Certification Program.

  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent must obtain certificate within 2 years.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Accounting, Business, Finance. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. To qualify at the GS-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Operating/using automated financial systems/payroll systems. 2) Analyzing financial information to ensure conformance to guidance; and 3) Preparing a variety of financial reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Accounting, Business, Finance. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
