As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (SyRIS Lead Expert) with emphasis in Captial Adequacy and Planning, you will serve as an expert advisor to the respective Associate Deputy Comptroller and SyRIS Deputy Comptroller and provide advanced technical expertise and broad organizational perspective, advice and support. Supervision Risk and Analysis Systemic Risk Identification Support & Specialty Supervision (SyRIS) Washington, D.C. (or alternate location)

Duties

As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (SyRIS Lead Expert) with emphasis in Capital Adequacy and Planning, you will: Perform activities that generally include the following: stress testing, Basel reforms and standards, advanced approach, earnings, risk identification, recovery planning, capital and strategic planning, and risk management. Provide authoritative advice and technical knowledge on challenging supervisory matters within the assigned supervision risk area to supervision management, policy officials, subject matter experts and specialists and senior subject matter managers within the OCC. Lead horizontal reviews and Quality Control/Quality Assurance activities to ensure appropriate application of OCC guidance, rules and regulations, evaluates findings, and identify/coordinate appropriate corrective actions and redirection for continual improvement and enhancement of OCC supervisory practices in the specialty area. Provide support to large and midsize bank examiners, and to community bank examiners as appropriate, on policies or programs initiatives and changes to supervisory procedures and new regulations with respect to the supervisory risk area. Identify emerging issues throughout OCC supervised institutions and coordinate findings with other lead experts and risk specialists for the specialty area and for other specialty areas, policy officials, and supervision leadership across the OCC. Identify and respond to highly challenging, complex risks in the specialty area and supervision at large.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-VI band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Examining or auditing a financial institution's compliance with laws, regulations and guidance related to Capital Adequacy and Planning activities; such as, (stress testing, Basel reforms and standards, advanced approach, earnings, risk identification, recovery planning, capital planning and strategic planning); AND Serving as an advisor or consultant to senior management on Capital Adequacy and Planning supervisory issues, in a financial institution or regulatory agency. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
