You will serve as Assistant to the Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) Director in the OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEPARTMENT of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.
Duties
You will determine the direction of the Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) office and will be held accountable for the effective
implementation and conduct of all ESH Programs.
You will review new or revised policy directives or program materials of higher headquarters or regulatory agencies, determining applicability
and scope of impact on ESH programs.
You will provide administrative and technical supervision to Safety and Occupational Health Specialists, Environmental Protection Specialists
and assigned enlisted personnel.
You will coordinate ESH programs with local Navy activities to ensure that private shipyard contractors working on home-ported vessels are in
full compliance with laws, regulation and standards applicable to each specific facility.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and evaluating the applicable provisions of an Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) program to ensure compliance with governmental regulatory agencies, state and local statues and regulations in support of ship construction and repair industry.
