You will serve as a Environmental Protection Specialist in the Base Operations Medical Installations (BOMI), Director for Administration of NMRTC PORTSMOUTH VA.
Duties
You will provide oversight for hazardous waste throughout the Medical Center's area of responsibility.
You will assist in the management of the pharmaceutical waste program ensuring pick up of waste.
You will provide guidance to military service members to ensure cleaning and sanitation standards are maintained.
You will assist in the management of Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) and Hazardous Waste (HW) storage practices and ensure environmental compliance.
You will handle various types of medical wastes that are considered potentially infectious.
You will Periodically will be required to perform environmental inspections and enter data into EMSWeb.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience inspecting Satellite Accumulation (SAA) areas, regulation of Medical Waste (RMW) and store Hazardous Waste (HW) to ensure environmental compliance
Experience assisting in the management of a pharmaceutical waste program
Experience providing guidance to military members to ensure cleaning and sanitation
Experience ensuring proper packaging of Medical Waste and Hazardous waste material
Experience handling and storing medical and hazardous waste in accordance with Federal, State and local laws.

Substitution of Education:
- Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
