You will serve as a H-1 LEAD GENERAL ENGINEER in the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, SE & ALRE Group, SE Department, PEO (A) PSE Division, H-1/C-130 SE Branch of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.

Duties

You will make or recommend engineering tradeoffs considering cost, schedule and performance elements using effective communication to convince or settle matters involving significant or controversial issues as they apply to Naval Aviation SE. You will provide expertise and guidance to others on matters related to design and development efforts. You will direct the technical efforts of other personnel, while managing the full life cycle requirements of all engineering projects. You will serve as a support equipment expert in regard to engineering, technical, design, operational, and fielding requirements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-04 or comparable GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized experience. Interpret program objectives to determine specific and measurable engineering goals, procedures, and project milestones in order to complete work according to technical requirements, budget restrictions, and project schedules. Evaluate SE components to assess capability and identify areas for improvement. Performs risk assessment to isolate design flaws to propose changes in engineering technology, testing practices, and equipment integration. Develop engineering work packages to include technical guidance, specifications, and evaluation methods for various components of aircraft support equipment. Lead teams of multiple disciplines to develop new technology and engineering procedures in order to properly and efficiently adapt to program or system changes. Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
