THIS IS An AIR NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD0097000 and is part of the TN 164th AW, Air National Guard.
This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 115 (Pyramid on the River Chapter).
Duties
As an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-8268-10 (TITLE 32), you will utilize electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics and technical publications, determine extent and type of preventative and/or repair maintenance required. Connect power sources, and using cockpit controls, gauges and additional precision instruments, perform operational and functional checks of inflight refueling, single point refueling and fuel transfer systems and related valves, pumps, switches, selectors, and control devices. Perform leak check of aircraft fuel systems by visual inspection or by removal of panels and dye tracing fuel leaks. Diagnose and overhaul fuel accessories by disassembling, cleaning, and examining parts for corrosion, scratches, cracks or other damage. Prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IG, and DE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. Perform other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications
Military Grades: E-4 through E-6
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates your knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic systems, and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience or training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines; experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems; experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies. Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems; experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications.
