About the Position: You will serve as subject matter expert for Visual Information products and services and support communication efforts at the USACE Nashville District Office.

Duties

Take photographs, illustrate or create custom original artwork to supplement available graphic resources. Prepare final designs and complete arrangements for printing or electronic reproduction and furnishes completed product to customer. Determine best methods to illustrate subject matter in abstract, literal, photographic, or impressionistic form. Recommend media to be used considering desired objectives, quality of material, process limitations, expediency of project and costs. Provide digital photographic or videography support of events i.e., town meetings, awards ceremonies, ground breakings or change of command ceremonies. Perform video editing and serves as the local technical expert in video pre and post-production. Receive project assignments and ensures that project schedules are maintained, and all milestones are met.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning and designing of visual information products including printed publications, multimedia, video, photography, exhibits, logos, signs, and certificates etc.; providing maintenance of various visual information equipment and software in the production of projects, developing concepts from sketches and ideas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, or visual communication. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCommunications and MediaMultimedia Technologies Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
