You will serve as a Region Inspector/Investigator in the Inspector General division of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will evaluate cases relating to violations of federal regulations to check compliance with regulatory standards, You will conduct and complete investigations accurately and in timely manner. You will counsel Hotline complainants to advise them of the steps towards resolutions. You will document problems, deficiencies, violations of laws and regulations, orders, directives, or practices for compliance with requirements.

Qualifications

For the GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Participating in an inspection program that assess compliance of Region and Installation programs with applicable regulations to detect deficiencies, improprieties, and inefficiencies; 2) Evaluating the extent of compliance with policies and procedures to deter fraud, waste, or mismanagement, and 3) Preparing inspection reports detailing findings and recommendations for leadership. NOTE: Experience must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for this position. For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting or supporting members of a team as an inspector, responding to investigations, command evaluation reviews, management control program, and/or external audits; 2) Assisting with or supporting coordinating schedules for command inspections or assist visits to subordinate activities; 3) Assisting with or supporting with providing recommendations or feedback to staff/team members both orally and in writing pertaining to inspections, investigations, management control programs and audits. Education

For the GS-11 ONLY: In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
