THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEM MECHANIC, Position Description Number D0097000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard. This technician position serves as a Pneudraulic Svstem Mechanic within a fuel systems shop responsible for inspection, repair and maintenance of aircraft fuel cells, water injection, entidetonant (ADI), and inflight refueling systems.

Duties

Utilizing electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics and technical publications, determines extent and type of preventative and/or repair maintenance required. Connects power sources, and using cockpit controls, gauges and additional precision instruments, performs operational and functional checks of inflight refueling, single point refueling and fuel transfer systems and related valves, pumps, switches, selectors, and control devices. Performs leak check of aircraft fuel systems by visual inspection or by removal of panels and dye tracing fuel leaks. Diagnoses and overhauls fuel accessories by disassembling, cleaning, and examining parts for corrosion, scratches, cracks or other damage. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IG, and DE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard or eligible to transfer.
  • Must hold the grade of E-5 or E-6.
  • Submit all required documentation.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • Compatible Military Assignment: 2A6XX AFSC or obtain it within one year of hire.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-5 or E-6 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A6XX AFSC or able to obtain it within one year of hire 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. 3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience. DO NOT copy each bullet listed below word for word and place into your resume; you must describe your personal experience as it pertains to each bullet. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. 2. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines. 3. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. 4. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. 5. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies. 6. Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems. 7. Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment. 8. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications.

Education

Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
