The primary responsibility of this position is to perform mail clerk duties and other administrative functions in the Veterans Affairs Pacific Islands Health Care System (VAPUICS) Logistics Service in Kapolei, HI.
Duties

Plans and directs operational processes;
Provides technical guidance necessary to achieve effective and efficient operations;
Submits reports to management;
Coordinates work flow, and provides needed training to ensure successful daily work center operations;
Administers and completes a variety of office service functions including, but not limited to, mail and messenger services, acquisition, reproduction, record keeping and files management, publications, and forms control;
Acts as Funds Control Point clerk for the metered mail account;
Prepares required reports;
Procures office supplies using a Government Purchase Card;
Serves as a Contract Officer's Representative (COR);
Initiates supply/repair requisitions;
Performs related duties as required.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-04: One year of general experience performing progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. ~OR~
An associate's degree or 2 years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. An equivalent combination of general experience and progressively higher-level graduate education that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. Your experience must be detailed in your resume and transcripts required.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: The work involves extended periods of standing and walking, lifting items up to 60 pounds, beading, stooping, and pushing carts. Work is performed in a variety of settings ranging from a normal office setting to areas that involve some risks and or discomforts including, but not limited to, biological chemical hazards, heat, dust, rain, and slippery conditions, etc., which require normal safety precautions.
