Duties

Provide office automation and administrative support to the Directorate of Emergency Service, Law Enforcement Branch. Reviews all military police and incident reports for completion, compliance, appropriate criminal codes, evidence, and conflicting information. Files cases and incident reports; maintains central repository for all official military police and incident reports. Uses database or spreadsheet software, to include Offense Reporting System (ORS-2) or other police reporting systems to enter, revise, sort or calculate, retrieve statistical data for reports Inputs traffic and warning ticket data to include disposition of tickets, in computer based files. Serves as Magistrate Court Clerk for the agency.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Managing records for various entities for a servicing organization, 2) Composing correspondence from readily available information, rough drafts and verbal instructions utilizing an automated system; AND 3) Reviewing and tracking suspense timelines of personnel actions within a servicing organization. OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCustomer ServiceManages and Organizes InformationOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment
