You will serve as a Supervisory Police Officer in the NSA ANNAPOLIS SECURITY DETACHMENT.
Duties
You will implement a law enforcement program to protect personnel and property from loss, theft, sabotage, or terrorism.
You will assign law enforcement work through junior supervisors and adjust operating schedules and priorities as changes and circumstances warrant.
You will collaborate in a law enforcement team to develop solutions to a problem.
You will implement official operating plans, policies, and instructions for the protection and preservation of life and property.
You will brief report details of situations, security violations, adverse weather conditions, or other emergencies requiring immediate attention.
You will identify law enforcement areas that need improvement to provide recommendations.
You will recommend promotions, reassignments, training, awards, or disciplinary actions for law enforcement staff.
You will develop guidance on administrative polices, practices, and procedures concerning physical security and law enforcement.
You will write departmental policy to control the ingress and egress of commercial vehicles to the installation.

- The DON does not employ individuals for Law Enforcement Officer positions who have been convicted of a crime of domestic violence on or after 27 November 2002. You must submit DD Form 2760, Qualification to Possess Firearms before appointment.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Distribute and balance the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization, assure timely accomplishment of the assigned workload, and assure that each employee has enough work to keep busy; 2. Keep in touch with the status and progress of work, and make day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities, obtaining assistance from the supervisor on problems that may arise; 3. Ensure employees are in compliance with shift requirements for arming and personal protective equipment (PPE), and are provided briefings on installation security posture, safety, and use of deadly force; 4. Estimate and report on expected time of completion of work, maintain records of work accomplishments, time expended, and prepare production reports; and 5. Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques, make available written instructions, reference materials and supplies.
