You will serve as a OFFICE AUTOMATION ASSISTANT in the Industrial Hygiene Department of NMRTC SAN DIEGO CA.

Duties

You will perform a variety of record keeping, reporting, and informational duties in support of the division, projects, studies, and serve as receptionist for the division. You will responsible for correcting grammar, punctuation, spelling, and properly formatting correspondence. You will operate office equipment such as printers, modems, optical scanner, typewriter, word processor, computer terminal etc. You will be responsible for updates, revises, sorts, calculating and manipulating data in databases and on spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in operating electronic typewriter, word processor, microcomputer, computer terminal and/or related equipment (copier printer, fax, scanner), using a standardized typewriter style keyboard with additional function keys; Experience using advanced and varied functions of one of more software types such as word processing, electronic mail, calendar, spreadsheets, graphics, and database; Experience with technical and/or specialized terminology to process scientific, engineering, or medical reports, laboratory analyses, or similar data from handwritten or computer generated drafts; Experience performing a wide variety of record keeping, reporting and informational duties to support the command. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION of Four (4) Years above high school. A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education, failure to submit transcript will result in loss of consideration as relating to substitution of education for experience.
This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.

OR

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
