THIS IS AN ARMY NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 SUPERVISORY FACILITY OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (MI FCTC), Position Description Number D2797000 and is part of the MI FCTC, Michigan Army National Guard.

Duties

***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP*** This position is located in the Directorate of Public Work (DPW), of an Army National Guard Garrison Training Center (GTC) of a Level III or Level IV Garrison Training Center that supports a Battalion or multiple companies. This purpose of this position is to manage, direct, supervise, and coordinate master planning; engineering design, construction, and inspection; real property management, maintenance; fire prevention and protection; utilities systems; refuse collection and disposal; and environmental managemental management through an overall augmented staff consisting of state workers, site contract, technician, and military personnel. 1. Formulates plans, programs, policies, and directs activities pertaining to the operation, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and improvements to all real property facilities. 2. Manages the facilities engineering program at the GTC. 3. Responsible for the preparation of the five-year construction program. 4. Programs and project yearly requirements for major and minor engineering, construction, and maintenance, activities at the GTC. 5. Responsible for implementation of the environmental protection program for the GTC.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Army National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the Michigan Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Michigan Army National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Experience, education or training which demonstrates the knowledge of, and skill in applying, a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices concerning equipment, facility, or service operations with complicated technical requirements that have no clear precedent or plan. Experience overseeing and implementing a program involving the identification and resolution of difficult issues or problems. Experience preparing budgets based on plans for maintenance, repair work, new construction alteration projects, replacement of existing equipment, or increase in services and processes to ensure program effectiveness. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
