This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration serving as a Program Management Officer and Deputy to the Executive for Public Museum Engagement and Legislative Archives (L). This position assists in directing work and providing support to the Executive for L and all components within the organization.
Duties
As an PROGRAM MANAGEMENT OFFICER (Deputy Director), you will:
Carry out day-to-day operations using a variety of coordinating, planning, and leadership techniques to assure that the work of the support and administrative staff and L is successfully accomplished.
Ensure a high-level of communication within L and support communication activities with component heads, managers, supervisors, administrative staff, and stakeholders.
Propose, manage, and participate in projects to improve operations and culture. Also contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and standards concerning L, helping formulate and improve operations.
Develop work plans, provide general day-to-day direction in compliance with work plans and L policies and procedures, monitor progress, and submit management reports.
Supervise the performance of employees with different grades, performance plans, and levels of expertise.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience for the GS-15 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-14 level, or equivalent, which includes applying program management principles to direct the day-to-day operations of an organization. Examples of such experience could include:
Experience consulting with, making recommendations to and implementing solutions for executive level staff; OR
Experience providing strategic leadership, overall planning, directing, coordinating long range plans and daily operations; OR
Experience providing leadership to inspire, motivate, and guide others toward goals; gain cooperation from others to obtain information and accomplish goals, build consensus and effectively execute change events; OR
Experience leading people through organizational change.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14level for 52 weeks.
