You will serve as a Supply Technician of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.

Duties

You will conduct causative research investigations and analysis of unresolved inventory discrepancies, inventories of sensitive items, classified items. You will perform all duties related to identifying and correcting database imbalances through physical inventory, causative research, analysis, and initiating corrective actions. You will conduct extensive investigations to resolve inventory discrepancies to determine why they occurred and what corrective action is needed. You will physically count aviation material, recording counts utilizing manual and Automated Identification Technology (AIT) handheld devices. You will provide technical support, answer questions relative to items being surveyed, reinvestigate areas as required, and provide relevant data from precedential surveys. You will conduct Record Reconciliation location audits by reviewing warehouse bin locations of aviation material searching and comparing transactions in both the supply/maintenance system record ensuring location validity and synchronizing databases. You will recommend and initiate new or refinement of existing procedures, to improve stock record, inventory accuracy, Location Audits Program (LAP), and security of stocked material. You will maintain the Supply Discrepancy Report (SDR) program.

  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience performing Supply Technician work equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in order to perform complex assignments and conduct extensive searches for required information in order to resolve issues related to physical inventory and distribution, material requisitioning, receipt and issue control systems; I have experience utilizing various inventory methods, principles, and practices, in order to conduct investigations or technical studies about complex supply issues, and display the results in a meaningful format. I have experience and skill in interpreting and applying inventory guidelines, regulations, instructions, and policy statements, along with a knowledge and understanding of inventory locations. Experience using a variety of automated supply databases to conduct extensive and exhaustive research for all inbound/outbound materials, conduct Material Obligation Validations and preparation of SDRs and QDRs (e.g. Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP), ALIS and NALCOMIS databases). Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Assist in conducting research and analysis to determine the causes of unresolved inventory discrepancies; 2) Assist in making determinations and recommendations based on knowledge of local supply requirements to meet the customer needs; 3) Examine items received, notes overages, shortages or any damage in shipping and prepares detailed reports; 4) Maintain inventory records and perform physical inventories to ensure accuracy of records; 5) Process corrective ERP transactions and/or contact appropriate personnel for assistance in resolving pending transactions; and 6) Apply various quality control methods, principles, and practices, including sampling techniques and statistical analysis..
